Job Type: Full-time
Benefits:
We're looking for a Product Systems Engineer who can dig into a complex, multi-layered product across software, hardware, data, and infrastructure, and figure out where it bends, breaks, or underperforms. You'll troubleshoot, test, and optimize across the stack, build the automation and observability tooling to do that work at scale, and design the experiments that surface what the product can't yet do well.
This is a hands-on engineering role with real authority. You'll have sign-off on what ships, with latitude to recommend which features make a release and which need more time.
The work spans a wide technical surface area. That's the appeal and the challenge. It won't be an easy job. But you won't be on your own. You'll have direct access to our front-end, back-end, DevOps, and systems engineering teams to tackle issues you can't or shouldn't have to solve alone.
What you'll do
Troubleshoot, test, and optimize
Across the full product: API endpoints, hardware, Linux systems, disk and database performance, web application profiling, data analytics algorithms like anomaly detection, and build/release/licensing systems. You'll reproduce and isolate failure modes, drive root cause analysis, and work with engineering teams to get things resolved.
Own the QA lifecycle
Security, regression, and performance testing from end to end. You'll turn requirements into quality criteria, build and run test plans, triage defects, and keep improving the approach as the product grows and changes.
Build automation and observability tooling
Write the tools yourself, from scratch, in Python, Go, Bash, or whatever gets the job done. Instrument systems for telemetry and logging. Wire quality gates into CI/CD. The goal is moving the team away from reactive firefighting and toward something more repeatable and measurable.
Design benchmarks and engineering experiments
With real mathematical rigor, to find product gaps and performance ceilings before customers do. Write up your findings clearly enough that other engineers can act on them. Stay curious about what isn't being measured yet.
Make release calls
Which features ship, which ones hold, and why. You'll report directly to the Director of QA and have the data and authority to back your recommendations. You'll need to communicate those findings clearly to both technical teammates and people who aren't in the weeds with you.

Benefits
We are looking for a talented and motivated Backend API Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs that power our core products. If you love clean architecture, scalable systems, and writing Go code that just works, we'd love to hear from you.
